L&T bags Rs.368-cr order from China
New Delhi:
Larsen & Toubro Ltd (L&T) has bagged a Rs368 crore order from a power generation company in China for the supply of critical gasification equipment.

It will supply three sets of gasification equipment to Datang International Power Generation Company Ltd for its coal based olefin project in Mongolia.

L&T will complete dispatch of equipment by September 30, 2007 and complete assembly of the dispatched sections by February 15, 2008.

With this contract, the cumulative order booking of its heavy engineering division from China now exceeds $220 million.

Kirloskar bags Rs.120-cr Senegal order for irrigation equipment
Mumbai: Kirloskar Brothers Ltd, manufacturer and exporter of centrifugal pumps, on Friday said that it has bagged Rs120 crore order from the ministry of agriculture, Senegal for supply of irrigation equipments.

The supply of diesel and electric pump sets, accessories and other irrigation equipments would enable the government of Senegal to improve irrigation system and achieve self-sufficiency in rice production, the company informed the Bombay Stock Exchange.

Dr. Reddy's gets tentative USFDA nod for Amlodipine tabs
Mumbai: Dr Reddy's Laboratories Ltd on Friday said that it has received tentative approval from US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) for amlodipine besylate tablets.

Amlodipine is used to treat high blood pressure and chest pain, the company informed the Bombay Stock Exchange.

ICSA India signs $140mn contract with Sudan power firm
Mumbai: ICSA India Ltd on Friday said that it has signed an agreement with National Electricity Corporation (NEC) of Sudan for execution of a $139.95 million power and communication project.

The project includes construction of 514 km transmission line and sub stations at four places in Sudan with two-bay extensions including communication in Sudan, the company informed the Bombay stock Exchange.

Mumbai: Pipe coating and pipe manufacturer PSL Ltd on Friday said that it has bagged a Rs85 crore order from Oman for supply of steel pipes.

The company has got the contract from the ministry of housing, electricity and water of Oman, it informed the Bombay Stock Exchange.

IDS to triple headcount at Bangalore centre
Bangalore: International Decision Systems (IDC), asset finance portfolio management software and services provider, plans to triple staff at its development centre in Bangalore as it seeks to drive product engineering from here, senior company executives said on Friday.

Todd Davis, president, IDS, said that the company was expanding Bangalore operations to add product development capabilities on a global scale.

"The Bangalore global development centre is going to thrive as the technology hub for software development to serve the majority of the world's leasing and asset finance corporations," Davis said.

According to IDS, more than 25 per cent of the world's lease receivables and more than 50 per cent of the United States lease receivables are booked into back-office solutions that are part of the company's software offerings.

Sahara One to raise $50mn from FCCBs
Mumbai: Sahara One Media & Entertainment Ltd has said that it would raise $50 million through issue of equity shares or foreign currency convertible bonds (FCCBs) in international markets.

The board of directors have approved the issue of equity shares, preference shares, convertible debentures, convertible notes, FCCBs, secured premium notes (SPNs) or any securities convertible into equity shares, the company informed the Bombay Stock Exchange.

The board has decided to call an extraordinary general meeting on May 8 to get the consent of the shareholders for the same. Sahara One runs four satellite channels including an entertainment channel 'Sahara One' and a dedicated news channel 'Sahara Samay'.

Patni in multi-service contract with Disney Mobile
Mumbai: IT services provider, Patni Computer Systems Ltd, said on Friday that its wholly owned subsidiary Patni Computer Systems Inc has signed a multi-service contract with US-based Disney Mobile.

As per the contract Patni would be responsible for development of consumer, retail and operational portals and end-to-end system testing across multiple vendors and technologies utilized by Disney Mobile.

It would also offer the company's knowledge of wireless technology and processes, especially about MVNOs (Mobile Virtual Network Operators) to Disney Mobile, Patni informed the stock exchanges.

Besides recently announcing its partnership with leading global HR firm Mercer, which would set up a global operations centre in India, Patni had last month signed a multi-services telecom contract with UK's largest independent retailer of mobile communications, The Carphone Warehouse.

Teledata subsidiary acquires 80 per cent stake in London company
Mumbai: Consolidating its presence in the communication sector, Teledata Informatics Ltd said Friday that it has acquired over 80 per cent stake in London-based I-MAX Networks Ltd through its subsidiary Voicetec Systems.

I-MAX Networks is a provider of telecommunication carrier services, equipment distributor and an integrated solution provider.

The core business is based on wholesale and retail of international voice traffic and aggregating traffic for incumbent local operators and its subsidiary Voicetec Systems caters to the wholesale business, the company informed the Bombay Stock Exchange.
