Ex-Nortel
CEO appointed on Wipro board
Bangalore: Wipro has appointed William Arthur (Bill)
Owens, former chief executive officer and vice chairman
of Nortel, on its board of directors.
With
his addition, six of the seven directors of Wipro will
be independent directors. Owens' appointment will be effective
July 1, said a Wipro press release.
Owens was the CEO and vice chairman of Nortel till November
2005. Under his leadership, Nortel was re-established
as a strong, stable, ethical Fortune 500 company, the
release said.

Mohan is president,
Ad Club Madras
Chennai: Ranju Kumar Mohan of Henkel India has
been elected president of Advertising Club Madras at its
Annual General Meeting held on April 28. R Seshadri (Anugrah
Madison), was elected to be vice-president: Bimal Nair
(Contract Advt (India) was chosen to be the secretary
while the treasurer was S Sadhasivan (Layam Advertising).
