New
drug policy soon: Paswan
New Delhi: The government will announce a new pharmaceutical
policy in a couple of months that will be aimed at lowering
prices of medicines.
"The
National Pharmaceutical Policy 2006 will help in availability
of drugs at a reasonable price for the common man,"
Ram Vilas Paswan, minister for steel, chemicals and fertilizers,
said at a news conference.
Paswan
mentioned that over the past two years, the National Pharmaceutical
Pricing Authority has reduced prices of 59 bulk drugs
and 531 formulations.
