Cabinet secretary, BK Chaturvedi's tenure extended
New Delhi: B.K. Chaturvedi has been given a year's
extension as the Union cabinet secretary. An order to
this effect has been issued by the Government following
the decision of the appointments committee of the cabinet
chaired by the prime minister.
Chaturvedi, was due to retire on June 13.
Chaturvedi, an IAS officer of 1966 batch
from Uttar Pradesh cadre, was appointed Cabinet Secretary
on June 14, 2004.

Sahara
MF chief, Rajiv Shastri, resigns
Kolkata: Rajiv Shastri, CEO of Sahara Mutual Fund,
has put in his papers.
Shastri's
previous assignment was as head - fixed income at ABN
AMRO Asset Management (India).
Sahara MF, which came into being after a takeover of the
erstwhile A C Muthiah-promoted First India MF, currently
has five equity and four debt funds. Its asset base as
on March 31 stood at Rs282 crore.
Recent
past, another senior Sahara MF executive, Arindam Ghosh,
who handled marketing functions, had also quit.
