FII
trades: SBI, PNB shares trade at premium
Mumbai: Trades between FIIs generated a volume of
Rs218 crore on the BSE on Thursday with 51 lakh shares,
of 13 stocks listed on the exchange, being traded.
SBI
shares attracted the highest premium of 19.30 pc with
35,532 shares changing hands at Rs977 as against the spot
price of Rs818.90.
Punjab
National Bank shares attracted a premium of 9.93 pc, with
1.30 lakh shares changing hands at Rs430 as compared with
the spot close of Rs391.15.

iShares
MSCI India to list on SGX on June 15
Mumbai: Barclays Global Investors (BGI) and Singapore
Exchange Ltd (SGX) on Thursday announced that `iShares
MSCI India' would be listed on SGX on June 15, making
it the first Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) outside India
to offer investors an ideal route for accessing the Indian
stock market.
The
iShares MSCI India will track the MSCI India Index, which
is designed to provide a broad-based coverage of at least
85 per cent of the free float-adjusted market capitalisation
of each industry group in the Indian market, a press release
from BGI said here.
iShares
Funds are index tracking funds managed by BGI that are
bought and sold like common stocks on stock exchanges.
The manager of iShares MSCI India is BGI Southeast Asia
Ltd, a subsidiary of BGI in Singapore.

Franklin
Intl. fund to standardise valuation of assets
Kolkata: With effect from today, Franklin India International
Fund will seek to standardise the valuation of securities,
whereby all assets and liabilities in foreign currency
will be valued in rupees, the company has said.
The rate quoted by Reuters at the time when the NAV of
the US fund is calculated will be considered. If such
rate is not available, the rate quoted by Bloomberg will
be used.
Franklin
India International Fund provides unit holders access
to a basket of US Government securities by buying units
of Franklin US Government Securities Fund, which has been
in existence since 1991.
The
last portfolio statement issued by Franklin Templeton
MF shows that the fund is 79.88 per cent invested in units
of Franklin US Government Fund, while the rest is parked
in cash and other liquid assets.

Principal
PNB AMC launches fixed duration fund
Mumbai: The Principal PNB Asset Management Company
and the Vijaya Bank have announced the launch of the `Principal
PNB Fixed Duration Fund 3 Year Plan-Series I,' a close-ended
debt fund. It is open for subscription from May 22 to
June 15.
The
fund has been positioned as a stable investment alternative
to traditional long-term fixed income investments. The
fund would invest a substantial portion of its portfolio
in quality debt funds such as medium term AAA and AA rated
papers maturing with the fund.
The
balance portion of the portfolio will be invested in equity
shares of fundamentally strong companies with a focus
on IPOs. A portion of the fund would also be invested
in mid-cap and large cap stocks. The fund also offers
triple indexation benefit that reduces the tax liability
enabling it to deliver tax efficient returns to the investor.
The
minimum investment is Rs5,000.
