British
Airways World Cargo shuffles commercial management team
New Delhi: British Airways World Cargo (BAWC)
has announced its new commercial management team for the
Asia Pacific and the Middle East, including India, as
part of the carrier's global middle management restructure.
Mat
Burton has been appointed area cargo manager for India
and Nepal. He was earlier BAWC's area cargo manager for
Japan and Korea. Burton will be based in New Delhi.
Other
new appointments include Ian Barrigan, who is based in
Dubai and is the new regional commercial manager for Middle-East
Africa and Southern Asia, Chris Chan, regional manager,
Asia Pacific, and Rory Black, area commercial manager,
Japan and Korea.

IBM
chief Palmisano on two day visit to India
Bangalore: The chairman and CEO of `Big Blue' IBM,
Samuel J. Palmisano, will be on a two-day visit to India
this week. This will be Palmisano's fourth visit to the
country since May 2003.
The
IBM chief will address employees and investors in Bangalore
on Tuesday, speaking on innovation in an era of globalisation,
showcasing India's vast potential, capabilities and its
increasingly significant role in the global economy.
The
President, A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, and the chairman and group
managing director of Bharti Industries, Sunil Bharti Mittal,
will also attend the event on Tuesday.
Palmisano's
visit comes at a time when IBM is transforming itself
into a globally integrated company, pooling assets and
skills across national boundaries. For IBM, India is an
important part of its globally integrated company model
and also an centre of excellence in a number of areas.
These include business process outsourcing, delivery services,
research and software development.
