Wipro appoints Vaidya as head of PC business

Bangalore: Wipro Infotechon has announced the appointment of Ashutosh Vaidya as the Head of the Wipro Personal Computing Business. Prior to this, Vaidya was heading the strategy and planning function for global delivery application services at Hewlett Packard.

Ogilvy-Stuart appointed NASDAQ's new Asia-Pacific head
Mumbai: The Nasdaq stock market has hired James Ogilvy-Stuart as its Asia-Pacific head.

According to an official release issued today, Ogilvy-Stuart will be based in Hong Kong and be responsible for NASDAQ's new listings business throughout the Asia-Pacific region.

Ogilvy-Stuart assumed his position on July 3, 2006.

Ogilvy-Stuart joins NASDAQ after 17 years at Bloomberg, where latterly he was the regional sales manager for North Asia-Pacific. Until recently, he oversaw all sales operations for Hong Kong, China, Korea, Thailand and the Philippines. He established and managed Bloomberg's Asia Pacific Advisory Board and was responsible for the company's regional senior relationships with local government and regulatory bodies.

Beckham is global brand ambassador for Motorola
Mumbai: Motorola has signed up English soccer player David Beckham as its global brand ambassador.

Beckham would be seen carrying Motorola products during the World Cup, the company said in a release here.

"The three-year collaboration with David Beckham will kick-off with major activities across Asia including advertising appearances and extensive retail promotions rolled out across the network of Motorola stores and distributors throughout the region," the company said.

Beckham would also be supporting the newly-launched `Moto' mobile phone of the company.
