gets new HRD president
Mumbai: Rajan Dutta has been appointed president,
human resources development at Lupin Ltd. He will lead
the human resource and administration functions, a note
from the company said.

Amar
Babu, MD, Intel India, to relocate to US
Bangalore: Intel India's managing director
sales and marketing, Amar Babu is said to be moving to
the US in a different role.
Babu
has spent about four years in the current role.
Babu
was the public face for Intel India in the recent times
both in terms of its marketing and explaining the position
of the company. Intel's sales and marketing office is
based in Bangalore and has around 200 people with offices
in Mumbai, New Delhi, Chennai, Chandigarh and Kolkata.
In
October last Franklin Jones took over as president of
Intel India from Ketan Sampat. Apart from overseeing the
research activities at the Intel India Development Centre
in Bangalore Jones is also responsible for managing its
relationship with governments both at the Centre and State
levels and its education initiatives.
Intel
has announced an investment of $1bn in India and two CEOs
of the company have visited India in a span of six months.
However, Intel India in the recent past has seen certain
negative developments with it having stopped the work
on certain processors out of Bangalore as well as firing
some of its employees for reportedly producing fake bills.

Karnataka
Bank chief gets extension
Chennai:
Ananthakrishna, chairman, Karnataka Bank, who will complete
six years in office on July 13, 2006 has been granted
an extension for three years. He has completed two terms
of three years each. He is the 9th chairman of the bank.
During the last six years, the Mangalore-based Bank almost
trebled its business to reach a business turnover of over
Rs21,000 crore from Rs7,625 crore six years ago.
Its deposits stood at Rs13,243 crore and advances were
Rs7,791 crore as on March 31, 2006. The net profit of
the Bank zoomed to Rs176.03 crore from Rs40.71 crore six
years before.
