Amrita Patel appointed on Tata Tea board
Mumbai: Dr Amrita Patel has joined the board of Tata Tea Ltd as a non-whole time independent Director of the company with effect from June 29, 2006. Dr Patel is the Chairperson of the National Dairy Development Board.

Gujarat NRE MD to be on NZ coal company's board soon
Ahmedabad: Arun Kumar Jagatramka vice-chairman and managing director Gujarat NRE Coke, will soon be on the board of Pike River Coal Company Ltd, a coal company in New Zealand after the completion of the company's planned initial public offering (IPO).

Gujarat NRE Coke recently extended its Australasian presence with the purchase of a NZ$20 million shareholding in Pike River Coal Company Ltd, a subsidiary of New Zealand Oil and Gas Ltd. The Pike River investment will extend Gujarat NRE's Australian interests to New Zealand. In the last two years, the company has acquired two coalmines in New South Wales apart from interests in other mining and mineral exploration ventures in Australia.

Narula appointed DBS Chola AML chief executive
Chennai: DBS Cholamandalam Asset Management has announced the appointment of Rajnish Narula as the company's new chief executive, with effect from June 23.

DBS Chola AML, a subsidiary of Cholamandalam DBS Finance Ltd, a joint venture between the Murugappa Group and DBS Bank of Singapore, is the investment manager of DBS Chola Mutual Fund.

Narula was earlier the chief executive officer of Alliance Asset Management has over two decades of experience in banking with ANZ Grindlays Bank (subsequently Standard Chartered Bank) where he was the head of investment services and priority banking.

Narula's appointment follows the shifting of Sashi Krishnan to DBS in Singapore.
