Venugopal
files suit against Government
New Delhi: AIIMS director Dr P Venugopal has filed
a case in the Delhi High Court challenging the termination
of his service by the government after his public spat
with health minister A Ramadoss.
Venugopal
in his petition sought a direction to restrain the Centre
from nominating any minister either as a member or the
president of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences
under the provisions of Section 4 and Section 6 of the
AIIMS Act, 1956.
While
mentioning about the malafide and biased attitude of the
minister, he alleged that Ramadoss had brought along with
him one IPS officer Pramod Kumar from Tamil Nadu cadre
and another former Tamil Nadu police Inspector to serve
him as Officers on Special Duty who are occupying the
AIIMS guest house meant not for accommodation of the personal
staff of the minister, the petition alleged.
The
High Court adjourned the case.
