Senior management changes announced at Cognizant tech
Chennai: There have been some senior managerial
changes at Cognizant Tech.
Francisco
D'Souza, chief operating officer, Cognizant Technology
Solution, has been appointed as president and chief operating
officer of the company and will take over from January
1, 2007. He succeeds Lakshmi Narayanan, who has become
the vice-chairman of the board of directors.
Gordon
Coburn, chief financial officer has been promoted as chief
financial and operating officer. Chandra Sekaran, an executive
officer , has been promoted as president and managing
director, global delivery. Rajeev Mehta has been promoted
as chief operating officer, global client services, and
will join the executive team.

appointments at Advertising
Agencies Association of India
Mumbai: Srinivasan K. Swamy, CEO, RK Swamy BBDO,
has been re-elected president of the Advertising Agencies
Association of India (AAAI) for 2006-07. This is his third
consecutive year as the AAAI President. The other elected
members of the executive committee for 2006-07 comprise
Neville Gomes (Multimedia Aquarius), Sudhir Ghate (Magnum
Intergrafiks), Vinod Nair (Network Advertising), V. Shantakumar
(Saatchi & Saatchi), Arvind Sharma (Leo Burnett),
Madhukar Kamath (Mudra Communications), Tapas Gupta (BEI
Confluence Communication), Surajit Nag (ASP), and Nagesh
Alai (Interface Communication).
Madhukar
Kamath, managing director and CEO of Mudra Communications
was re-elected vice-president. The ex-president Sam Balsara,
chairman and managing director, Madison Communications,
will continue to be the ex-officio member of the new AAAI
executive committee.

CBDT
now at full strength
New
Delhi: The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) is
now full represented with the Government appointing four
new members on Tuesday. The Board now has six members
and a chairperson.
The
four new members are Rajiv Ranjan Singh, Rao Ranvijay
Singh, Ms Indira Bhargava and Ratneshwar Prasad.
Rajiv
Ranjan Singh, earlier, was director general of Income
Tax (DGIT Investigation) in Delhi, while Ranvijay Singh
was DGIT (Investigation) in Mumbai. Ms Bhargava was Chief
Commissioner of Income Tax (CCIT) in Mumbai and Ratneshwar
Prasad was CCIT in Delhi.

Mahajan is new Allahabad Bank CMD
New Delhi: A.C. Mahajan has been appointed as chairman
and managing director of Allahabad Bank from August 1
this year.
Mahajan
is expected to remain CMD of the bank up to July 31, 2010
i.e the date of his superannuation.

Jena joins Railway Board
New Delhi: KC Jena has joined the Railway Board
as Member (Staff). Before joining the Railway Board, he
was the General Manager, East Central Railway, said an
official release. He had also worked as the Executive
Director (Safety) and Executive Director (Coaching) in
the Railway Board earlier. Mr Jena succeeds Mr R.S. Varshneya
who retired after 38 years of service.
