Chennai: Anoop K. Prabhakar has taken charge as General Manager (Network 2), Chennai Circle of the State Bank of India. He was earlier Deputy General Manager (BPR), Corporate Centre, Mumbai, SBI.

UNI board gets new members
New Delhi: Subash Chandra, chairman of Essel Group and his brother Jawahar Goel have been co-opted as directors of the United News of India (UNI). P.C Lahiri, senior vice-president corporate affairs at Essel Group, and C.S. Vishwanathan, executive assistant to Chandra have also been co-opted to the UNI board.

In an effort to put at rest fears that the board-level changes could lead to job losses, the statement adds that the basic character of the agency would remain unchanged. "The activities of the company which today comprise Hindi, English and Urdu news services and photographic services would be expanded to give it a global footprint by utilising existing resources, including the manpower.
