Motorola CEO on India visit next week
New Delhi: Motorola's worldwide chief executive officer Ed Zander is visiting India next week and is expected to meet IT and Communication Minister Dayanidhi Maran. Recently Motorola lost out in the race for the world's largest contract by a state owned company Bharat Sanchar Migan Limited (BSNL) for adding 45 million GSM lines over next three years at an estimated cost of over Rs 20,000 crore.

Motorola has also approached Delhi High Court challenging BSNL's decision to disqualify the company on technical grounds, in which Swedish major Ericsson emerged the lowest bidder while Nokia of Finland the second lowest.

As per the tender terms and conditions, the lowest bidder gets 60 per cent of the contract while 40 per cent goes to the second lowest.
