AMD
appoints Alok Ohrie as MD
Bangalore: AMD India has appointed Alok Ohrie as
the new managing director of the company with its current
MD, Ajay Marathe, a long-time veteran of the chip maker
moving back to the US. Ohrie was previously with IBM.
Ohrie
previously served as director, systems and technology
group for IBM India and South Asia operations and spent
13 years with the US technology giant. He will be reporting
into Gustavo Arenas, corporate VP and head of AMD's high
growth market initiative.
Marathe
who joined AMD in 1984 and has held several engineering
and management positions, will be moving back to its headquarters
in Sunnyvale, California. AMD has its chip design centre
in Bangalore.
