New Delhi: Wal-mart has appointed Raj Jain as president and CEO designate for its operations in India.

Wal-Mart is also believed to be building its top team in India, including the head of finance, marketing and legal affairs. It appears that Wal-Mart does not want to wait anymore to enter India. It's expectation that the government would liberalise foreign investment norms in theretail sector has not materialised so far and so the company is now exploring options like appointing Indian business houses as its franchisee partners.
