EIL appoints D K Gupta as director, personnel
New Delhi: Engineers India has appointed D K Gupta as director (personnel). Gupta has been with the company for 34 years and is involved in design and engineering of process equipment, technology acquisition, marketing, procurements and HR said a company release said here.

Before assuming charge as director (personnel), Gupta was executive director (personnel and administration).

GAIL appoints two new directors for projects, biz development
New Delhi: GAIL (India) has appointed two new directors for projects and business development. Santosh Kumar took over as director (projects) while A K Purwaha took charge as director (business development) of the company, a GAIL press release said here.

Purwaha started his career with ONGC in the drilling business group and joined GAIL in 1985 while Kumar was earlier executive director (projects) at GAIL.

Purwaha has gained experience in cross-country pipeline for gas distribution, operation and maintenance of gas pipeline systems and project management fo r gas based LPG recovery plants.

Before taking over as director (business development), Purwaha was the managing director of Mahanagar Gas (MGL) from September 2001 to September 2006.

Ashok Jha is the new finance secretary
New Delhi: Ashok Jha has assumed charge as the new finance secretary. A 1969 batch IAS officer of Andhra Pradesh cadre, Jha was earlier secretary in the department of economic affairs in the ministry of finance.

He replaces Adarsh Kishore, who is to go to the International Monetary Fund on a three-year term as executive director.

Sanjiv Mishra, a 1972 batch IAS officer of Gujarat cadre has taken over as the expenditure secretary.
