Suzlon
chief gets Ernst & Young award
Mumbai: Tulsi Tanti, chairman, Suzlon Energy, has
been named the `Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the
Year' while S. Ramadorai, CEO, Tata Consultancy Services
received the award for `Manager Entrepreneur of the Year'.
Jignesh
Shah, managing director, Financial Technologies, received
a category award for `Business Transformation'.

WNS
names Arjun Singh new CEO for BFSI unit
Mumbai: WNS, the domestic business process outsourcing
company has appointed Arjun Singh as chief executive officer
of its banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI)
business unit.
Singh
was earlier with Dutch banking major ABN Amro, where he
served as a regional director responsible for major corporate
clients in 22 European countries, WNS said in a statement.
Before this, WNS (Holdings) chairman Ramesh N Shah served
as the company's BFSI unit interim CEO.
Singh
has also worked as the quality and Six Sigma leader for
Gecis (now Genpact), after starting his career with Unilever
India (Brooke Bond India Ltd) and holding senior positions
at ANZ Grindlays Bank (India and Melbourne).

Rohit
Modi quits as CEO of TN Road Development Company
Chennai: Rohit Modi, has resigned from his post
of chief executive officer of the Tamil Nadu Road Development
Company (TNRDC), a 50:50 joint venture between the TN
state government and the IL&FS.. The infrastructure
company, which is handling the implementation of the IT
Corridor project in Chennai and the operation and maintenance
of the East Coast Road, will now be headed by K.R. Viswanathan,
a nominee of the Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation
(Tidco) on the TNRDC board.
Modi
resigned from the post and was relieved on Tuesday. He
is examining various options including two from leading
players in the infrastructure field.
Modi
belonged to the 1985 Manipur cadre of the IAS and quit
the service in March 1999. He joined the IL&FS in
April 1999, and was its nominee on the TNRDC board between
May 1999 and June 2006. From June 2006, he was Tidco's
nominee.
