Russia,
US sign pact for WTO entry
Hanoi:
Russia and USA have signed a key trade deal that clears
the way for Russia's entry into WTO.
WTO
membership means that Russia, a big oil and gas exporter,
would receive the same favourable tariff rates for its
products as other members. Also, Russia and other member
countries would have to follow WTO rules in trade disputes.
Russia's top trade official, German Gref and Schwab inked
the deal in Hanoi on the sidelines of Apec summit. The
deal had been widely anticipated.
On
November 10, both sides announced that all the main questions
had been settled and all that remained was for a few technical
questions to be nailed down. managers invested in those
stocks that would not fall sharply with fall of market.

Universal
Music files lawsuit against MySpace over copyright
New York: French media giant Vivendi, which owns Universal
Music Group, the world's largest music company, has filed
a lawsuit against social networking site MySpace alleging
copyrights infringement of thousands of its artists' works.
The
lawsuit accuses MySpace of allowing users to upload videos
illegally and taking part in the infringement by re-formatting
the videos to be played back or sent to others. The lawsuit
follows several months of talks on music rights with News
Corp.'s MySpace.
Universal
claims thousands of links to music from Universal's biggest
artists, including Jay-Z and Gwen Stefani, which are widely
available on MySpace, even ahead of their release to music
stores. It estimated maximum statutory damages for each
copyrighted work at $150,000.
