Rupee
flat against dollar
Mumbai: The rupee was unchanged against the dollar
on Tuesday and opened at 44.78/80, traded between 44.82
and 44.84 levels, to finally close at 44.83/84 against
the previous close of 44.83/85 on Monday. "
A
dealer with a private bank said, "The industrial
output grew at 6.2 per cent in October which was below
market expectations, impacting the rupee," he said.
Forwards:
In forwards, the six-month closed at 2.79 per cent (2.68
per cent) and the 12-month ended at 2.47 per cent (2.42
per cent).
Bonds:
The bond market continued to be bearish. Total traded
volumes were at Rs3,215 crore (Rs2,780 crore). The ten-year
yield hardened by 10 basis points.
G-secs:
The 7.59 per cent - 10 year-2016 paper opened
at Rs100.42 (7.52 per cent YTM) and closed at Rs 99.73
(7.63 per cent YTM), down from Monday's Rs100.36 (7.53
per cent YTM). The 8.07 per cent - 11 year-2017
paper opened at Rs103.72 (7.53 per cent YTM) and ended
at Rs102.98 (7.64 per cent YTM), against Monday's Rs103.7
(7.54 per cent YTM).
Call
rates: Call rates jumped to 7.25-7.35 per cent against
6.55 per cent and 6.65 per cent on Monday, due to tight
liquidity in the system.
Reverse
repo: In the first one-day reverse-repo auction under
LAF, the RBI received and accepted three bids for Rs 175
crore and in the first one-day repo auction, the RBI received
and accepted eight bids for Rs2,010 crore. In the second
one-day reverse-repo auction, the RBI accepted and received
seven bids for Rs9,440 crore and in the second one-day
repo auction, it received and accepted eight bids for
Rs2,010 crore.
CBLO:
The CBLO market saw 426 trades aggregating to Rs22,868.30
crore in the 6.7 per cent-7.9 per cent range.
