ACC appoints Sumit Banerjee as new CEO
Mumbai: ACC has appointed Sumit Banerjee as the CEO designate from January 1, 2007. Banerjee will take over as managing director of the company from April 1, 2007, when M.L. Narula, the present managing director, retires.

Banerjee, a B. Tech in mechanical engineering from IIT Kharagpur, is now the managing director of Tube Investments Ltd.

Dr Anji Reddy gets award
Vijayawada: Dr K. Anji Reddy, chairman of Dr. Reddy's Labs, will be awarded Dr Pinnamaneni and Smt Sita Devi Foundation Award for 2006 at a function here on Thursday. Dr Reddy was born at Tadepalli village near here. The award carries a citation and Rs2 lakh in cash.

Dr Nageswara Rao said that Dr Reddy had been chosen for the award, not only for his entrepreneurship but also for the social service rendered by his group.
