Erickson appoints Joshi as chairman
Mumbai: McCann Erickson has appointed Prasoon Joshi, its current regional creative director, as executive chairman of its Indian operations.

Santosh Desai, president and chief operating officer, McCann Erickson, has resigned and moved on to Future Brands, the recently formed marketing company by Kishore Biyani's Future Group.

Joshi would reportto Sorab Mistry, regional director, McCann Worldgroup, for South and South East Asia.

AstraZeneca India gets new VP
Bangalore: AstraZeneca Pharma India has appointed Joher Raniwalla as its vice-president in the medical and regulatory division. Raniwalla joined Zeneca in 1996 and has worked both as a research physician and in the general drug development department. Raniwalla has worked in Japan from 2001-04, where he developed the Japan Clinical Organisation and led the Japan respiratory and inflammation therapy area, it said.

Mukul Gupta is CEO of Birla Sun Life
Mumbai: Mukul Gupta has been appointed chief executive officer of Birla Sun Life Asset Management Company. His tenure will begin from January 2007 and he will be based in Mumbai. Prior to joining Birla Sun Life MF, Gupta was the chief financial officer and head of bancassurance with Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance Company.
