Fortune
ranks Google as best company to work for
Silicon Valley: Fortune magazine has ranked
internet search company Google as the best company to
work for in America with amenities like free gourmet food,
free laundry facilities and onsite doctor. Google left
behind biotech company Genetech, which topped the list
last year, according to the rankings released by Fortune
magazine on Monday.
Yahoo,
Google's chief rival in Internet search, was ranked 44th
on the magazine's 10th annual list of the "100 Best
Companies to Work For.
The
survey was based on an evaluation of the policies and
culture of each company, and the opinions of the company's
employees.
Google,
Genentech and Network Appliance were the only Silicon
Valley firms to make to the Top 10, while Cisco Systems
just missed at No 11. Other companies from the valley
to make the Top 100 were Adobe Systems (31), Intuit (33)
and Yahoo (44).
