Uco Bank to sell NPAs worth 50 crore this fiscal
Kolkata: UCO Bank plans to sell about Rs50 crore of bad loans to asset reconstruction companies (ARCs) before the end of this fiscal. This exercise will help the bank shrink its non-performing assets (NPA) book.

Uco Bank's NPA are on the higher side at Rs1,386 crore as on December 2006, which increased from Rs1,306 crore from the March 2006 level. Its net NPA has also increased to Rs921 crore.

The bank has already recovered Rs279 crore worth NPAs during the April-December 2006 period.

In ratio terms, the bank's net NPA was at 2.15 pc as on December 31, 2006, which increased from 2.02 pc on September 30, 2006. Gross NPA stood at 3.23 pc.
