given charge of India ops
Mumbai: HSBC has relocated Tarun Kataria
to head India's corporate, investment banking and markets,
from his post of managing director HSBC in Hong Kong.
Kataria,
an MBA in finance from the Wharton School, has earlier
worked for Merrill Lynch and Chase Manhattan in the United
States.

SET
in multi-year pact with CEO Kunal Dasgupta
Mumbai: Sony Entertainment Television (SET) India
has reached a "multi-year" agreement with Kunal
Dasgupta to continue as CEO of the company according to
Andy Kaplan, president, International Networks, Sony Pictures
Television International (SPTI), in a press release.
SPTI
and its joint venture partners launched SET India in 1995
with one channel, Sony Entertainment Television.
Dasgupta
joined SET India in July 1995 and was one of its first
employees, Kaplan said, adding "Dasgupta is responsible
for the overall management of SET India.
Dasgupta
said he "would continue to expand and promote the
efforts of Sony in India".
