Washington:
The chief of the Federal Aviation Administration of US is coming to India and is expected to sign an aviation cooperation agreement next week.

FAA Administrator Marion Blakey this is only the second such pact the United States has with any country. The other is with China.

Blakey predicted India would benefit from expert US advice on aviation regulation and facilities, and the United States would learn from India's rapid installation of new technology like satellite-based aircraft monitoring.

After three days in India, she will travel Dubai for talks with its aviation officials and air carriers.

She noted that India has seen passenger growth of 25 percent a year recently, and the Persian Gulf region has posted double-digit passenger growth in 41 of the past 43 months.
