Nooyi bags American By Choice Award
New Delhi: PepsiCo CEO Indira Nooyi has bagged
the American By Choice award and is one among four recipients
of the award, which recognises outstanding achievements
of naturalised US citizens.

Nasscom
appoints new chairman for SRO
New Delhi: Nasscom plans to form a self regulatory
organisation (SRO) for adoption and strengthening of best
practices in IT and BPO companies to prevent data theft
and ensure that India remains a secure outsourcing destination.
As
a first step toward this, Nasscom has appointed former
Telecom Secretary Shyamal Ghosh as the chairman of the
yet-to-be formed SRO.
Ghosh
will lead the effort to set up the SRO functionally and
structurally, Nasscom president Kiran Karnik said.
The
SRO will raise the bar in data security and privacy by
including best practices currently stipulated by certifications
such as the ISO17799 standard for information security
of the International Organization for Standardization
(ISO) in Geneva, as well as data privacy and data protection
laws worldwide.

Broadcasting appoints new COO
Mumbai: V&S Broadcasting, a subsidiary of UTV
Broadcasting Ltd, has appointed Dilshad Master as chief
operating officer, for three of its channels to be launched
under the variety and specialty genre. These channels
will form part of the upcoming bouquet of TV channels
from the UTV group. Olive TV, to be launched in 2007,
will be the first of the channels.

Star
India appoints new COO
New Delhi: Uday Shankar has been appointed the COO
of Star India. Currently the CEO of Media Content and
Communications Services, a 74-26 joint venture between
the Ananda Bazar Patrika Group and the Star Group, which
runs Star News and the Bengali Star Ananda and a soon
to be launched Marathi channel, Shankar will join the
network shortly.
