New Delhi: A Raja, the minister of environment and
forests, has been selected as the new communications and
IT Minister, replacing Dayanidhi Maran, who submitted
his resignation yesterday.

French
bank Governor comes to India
New Delhi: Christian Noyer, the governor of the Banque
de France, is currently visiting India on a five-day official
visit for a series of meetings in the financial capital
Mumbai and here to discuss the bilateral issues on banking.
Noyer
is here at the invitation of his Indian counterpart, Dr
YV Reddy and has started his visit with a bilateral meeting
with the Reserve Bank of India in Mumbai. He is also scheduled
to meet the Finance Minister, P Chidambaram, in New Delhi
during his visit, a statement issued here by the French
Embassy said.

RBI
rejects IndusInd Bank's choice of chairman
Mumbai: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has rejected
IndusInd Bank's application to appoint Michael Bastin
as the non-executive chairman of the bank.
Michael
Bastin was the ex-chairman and managing director of Syndicate
Bank and was earlier a general manager in Union Bank of
India.
The
bank has now sent a new name from the corporate world
for RBI's approval.

Kapil
Dev to head executive board of Chandra's ICL
Mumbai: Former Indian cricket team captain Kapil Dev
will head the executive board of the Indian Cricket League
(ICL) set up by Subhash Chandra chairman of the Essel
group.
The
other members of the board include former stumper and
ex-chief selector Kiran More, former England captain Tony
Greig and Australian cricketer-turned-commentator Dean
Jones.
Himanshu
Modi, business head, Zee Sports, said more positions would
be finalised later.
Kapil
said he was delighted to be associated with the league
and would utilise his experience to nurture young talent.
