Bhandari appointed director of IRMA
Ahmedabad:
Vivek Bhandari has been appointed as the new director of Institute of Rural Management (Anand) (IRMA). He takes over from Neelima Khetan, who was appointed as the acting director of the institute, an official statement said.

Before joining IRMA, he was an associate professor of Modern History and South Asian studies in the school of Social Science at Hampshire College in Amherst, USA, the statement added.

GE appoints TP Chopra as president, CEO of India operations
New Delhi:
General Electric Company (GE) has appointed Tejpreet Singh Chopra (TP Chopra) as president & CEO of GE in India, succeeding Scott R Bayman, who was in the position for 14 years. With over 20 years of experience, TP Chopra will be responsible for the strategic and overall leadership of all GE businesses in India.

Currently the president and CEO of GE Commercial Finance, in India, TP Chopra is ten-year GE veteran and assumed the post of CEO, Commercial Finance in May 2006. Before this, TP Chopra was senior VP and country head - India for GE Commercial Aviation Services (GECAS), the commercial aircraft leasing and financing unit of GE.

Since joining GE in 1996, he has held positions in marketing, structured finance and risk management, at Stamford and Hong Kong for GE Commercial Aviation Services (GECAS).

TP Chopra takes up his new position in India with effect from 01 June 2007 and will report to Ferdinando Beccalli-Falco president & chief executive officer, GE International.
