Trehan
sells Fortis stake; to join Apollo Hospital
New Delhi: Well-known cardiologist Naresh Trehan has
sold his 10 pc stake in Escorts Hospitals to the Fortis
management and will join Apollo Hospitals Delhi on June
4 along with his team.
Escorts
Hospitals, where Trehan worked, has triple the facilities
for cardiac treatment than Apollo's.
According
to sources, Escorts has nine cardiac operation theatres
as against Apollo's three in Delhi. Even if one-third
of senior doctors leave Escorts for Apollo, the resultant
increase in patient flow for Apollo could be tremendous.
Meanwhile,
unconfirmed reports said that Trehan's exit from Fortis
was the logical conclusion of the agreement the signed
with Fortis management last week.
Apollo
sources said that they are willing to accomodate the entire
team of Trehan whatever be their size. The exact number
of doctors that will move out of Escorts will be known
in next three days, they said.
