On 27th December 2024, India lost its beloved leader, Manmohan Singh. Born on 26th September 1932 in Gah, Punjab, he passed away at AIIMS, New Delhi.
Partition uprooted Singh’s family in 1947. Despite hardships, he excelled academically, earning a doctorate from Oxford and shaping India's economic policies.
Manmohan Singh’s career spanned roles like RBI Governor, Finance Minister, and ultimately, Prime Minister (2004-2014).
Under his leadership, India achieved 8%+ GDP growth, implemented MGNREGA, and signed the historic India-US Civil Nuclear Agreement.
Singh’s policies included the Right to Information Act, Food Security Act, and Direct Benefit Transfer, empowering millions.
Many of Singh’s initiatives were rebranded by successors, like Jan Dhan Yojana and Make in India. His vision remains unparalleled.
Known for his integrity and consensus-building, Singh’s soft-spoken style hid his immense strength as a leader.
From transforming India’s economy to advocating social justice, Manmohan Singh remains a beacon of inspiration
India’s stature grew under his silent yet powerful leadership. Manmohan Singh will always be remembered as the architect of modern India.
