Lockheed gets $16.5 million army contract

Defense contractor Lockheed Martin says it has received a $16.5 million contract from the US Army Aviation and Missile Command to support a rocket program.

Under the terms of the contract, Lockheed Martin will partner with the Letterkenny Army Depot to provide support for the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System and the Multiple Launch Rocket System M270A1 System.

Work on the contract is expected to be complete by the third quarter of 2009.
