Sydney: Under increasing pressure from Asian low cost carriers, as they target routes to and from Australia, Qantas Airways Ltd has said that it will expand its code share arrangement with Indian carrier Jet Airways from Monday.

The deal enables Jet Airways passengers to travel on Qantas flights between Australia and Singapore and then connect to India on a Jet Airways' flight.

"The Australia-India route, a key market for Qantas, continues to grow, reflecting strengthening trade links and increasing numbers of tourists and business people traveling between the two countries," said Qantas group general manager for sales and distribution, Rob Gurney.
