Jet to spend $60 million on its MRO
10 Sep 2007
Jet Airways has set aside an investment of $60 million for its maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) hub, which is likely to come up at Bangalore, a senior airline official has announced. Other locations being considered include Delhi and Nagpur.
To be built on joint venture basis, the MRO will have a foreign partner. But the airline is yet to decide on who that will be.
The facility will be spread over an area of 25 to 50 acres of land, and will carry out maintenance work of the airline's fleet. It will also do MRO work for other airlines. It will be equipped for both Airbus and Boeing aircraft.
