ExecuJet's ‘Simply Fly’ programme moves beyond fractional ownership

Zurich, Switzerland, headquartered-ExecuJet Aviation has launched 'Simply Fly,' a new lease-based alternative to fractional ownership, block charter and traditional aircraft management. Under the plan, ExecuJet will make business jets available to individual clients and operate them on a full turnkey basis, which will cover crew, insurance, maintenance and handling.

Differing from fractional ownership, where members typically buy into a share of a jet, with a set number of flying hours a year, the Simply Fly programme allows a customer to have full use of their own aircraft, for a typical programme period of five years, without the burden and risks of ownership.

Under the scheme, ExecuJet said, it will acquire, and  insure a aircraft, provide crew, manage and operate it under seven, Air Operating Certificates (AOCs). ExecuJet would also arrange maintenance and technical support and provide all the fixed base operations (FBO) and ground handling services - all for a set monthly fee.

According to ExecuJet, when the client flies, this shall also be charged at a fixed hourly rate, in the process reducing the risk of operating cost variations. Additionally, should the client wish to make the aircraft available for charter to third party customers, and so generate income to offset the monthly fee, ExecuJet would provide this capability.

Simply Fly, according to ExecuJet, encapsulates all costs and risks in a programme that has a fixed monthly cost, fixed hourly rates, and limited variable costs that will be charged on a monthly basis.

As a Bombardier distributor, ExecuJet plans to begin Simply Fly operations in September this year with a pair of used Challenger 604s. Currently it is negotiating with Bombardier for the purchase of an initial batch of Global Expresses and Challengers.

ExecuJet Aviation Group has operations in four regions including Europe, Middle East, Africa and Australasia. It manages a fleet of over 100 modern aircraft worldwide under six regional civil aviation air operators certificates (AOCs).

ExecuJet is the exclusive sales distributor for Bombardier Business Aircraft in over 35 countries worldwide, and exclusive distributor for the Grob Aerospace's light business jet outside the Americas.

Other services include aircraft pre-owned sales, aircraft management, aircraft maintenance, aircraft charter, aircraft completions management and FBO services
