Srinagar: SpiceJet has inducted a second Boeing 737-900ER aircraft into its fleet, increasing its size to a total of 18. This is the second induction of the extended range 900 series aircraft for the airline this month.
In all, SpiceJet plans to induct four of these aircraft into its fleet by September 2008.
The 900ER aircraft will operate on the Delhi-Mumbai, Mumbai-Ahmedabad-Delhi, Mumbai-Bangalore and Bangalore-Delhi route apart from the current Delhi-Goa-Mumbai route. These are all high density, long-distance routes.
Part of the next generation of Boeing's 737 family, the 737-900ER offers an enhanced seating capacity. All its other features are the same as that of the 737-800, which SpiceJet currently operates.
