Air India Express planning to fly to Kuwait
05 May 2008
Kuwait: Air India Express (AIE), the no-frills airline of the national carrier National Aviation Company of India Limited, is planning to start flying from Kuwait to India.
Reports indicate that the service from Kuwait to India could start as early as the month of June. AIE will start initial operations from Kuwait to Mangalore. The airline already flies to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Qatar and Bahrain.
AIE's fare is linked to demand and supply, which results in variable pricing, though being a no-frills airline, it would still be lower than regular airlines. Reports also indicate that AIE may roll out its plans to operate flights to Dubai from other Indian cities such as Goa, Pune, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad.
For its part, NACIL will look at providing point-to-point connections from Gulf to Indian destinations, though it would take some more time for implementation of these plans. AIE would compliment NACIL in services to the Gulf.
