Jet Airways introduces direct Chennai-Pune daily services
13 May 2008
Jet Airways is increasing the frequency of its services on the Chennai-Pune sector with the introduction of a daily direct flight, effective 15 May 2008. Jet, which is India's largest private carrier, already operates daily services between these two leading south Indian metros via Bangalore.
Jet Airways' flight 9W 491 (Chennai-Pune) will depart Chennai at 17:25 and arrive at Pune at 19:00.
Commenting on this new frequency, Jet Airways CEO, Wolfgang Prock-Schauer, said, ''Passenger traffic on the Chennai-Pune sector has been growing at a fast speed, and the launch of a daily direct flight between the two cities, in addition to our pre-existing service on this route, is an attempt to cater to this increasing passenger demand. We expect this service to prove particularly popular with business travellers as it gives Jet Airways passengers the convenience of enhanced flexibility.''
Jet Airways will operate the route with the Boeing B737-800 Next Generation aircraft, with Premiere and Economy class configuration.
The new flight will also allow Jet Airways' passengers from Pune convenient connections to Kuala Lumpur and Toronto, via Chennai.
