New Delhi: In its 50th year of operations in India, German carrier Lufthansa has announced special return fares for travellers to Europe and America.
"The airline is offering return tickets to any destination in Europe for Rs26,000 and in America for Rs42,600. The bookings for these special fares are open till Sunday midnight," an airline spokesperson said.
Lufthansa commenced operations in India on 1 November 1959, when its first scheduled flight from Frankfurt landed at Kolkata after a 30-hour journey.
"Five decades of involvement with the growth of India's aviation sector provided an excellent base for Lufthansa's success into the future. Our leading position in India proves that we offer the right product at competitive prices," Lufthansa south Asia director Axel Hilgers said in a statement.
The airline said it plans to re-introduce 'Fly-Net', a wireless Internet service, on its long haul flights for India travellers from next year.
