IndiGo looks to increasing Singapore services

Singapore: Leading Indian low-fare operator IndiGo has said it will increase services to Singapore making use of the fact that the current overall limit for services, allowed under a bilateral air services agreement, remained underutilised.
According to IndiGo president, Aditya Ghosh, the Indian side, as of now, does not even use half the flights allowed under the agreement. This, naturally, provides a window of opportunity for the carrier to increase services to the island state.
Ghosh launched IndiGo's first low fare service to Singapore on 15 September.
IndiGo will operate services under the same bilateral air flight agreement between India and Singapore, Ghosh pointed out.
Envisaging further increase in passenger traffic between the two countries, IndiGo has planned a number of holiday packages both ways as it gradually increases flights to Singapore from one a day to at least two and possibly three a day over the coming year, Ghosh said.
Ghosh said he expects a surge in new travellers from India who will take advantage of low fare travel to Singapore for shopping and holidays.
