Jet to fly 6 days a week between Dubai and Mangalore

India's premier private carrier Jet Airways would operate daily flights between Mangalore in Karnataka and Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), beginning 3 January. The airline plans to operate the flights for six days a week, the IANS news agency reports.
"A Boeing 737-800 aircraft with 170 economy seats will fly six times a week to Dubai and back with warm service and delectable cuisine," Jet Airways said in a statement in Bangalore yesterday.
The flight (9W532) would depart from Mangalore, about 350 km from Bangalore, at 8 pm and arrive at Dubai at 10.30 pm (local time) Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday according to IANS.
On Tuesday, the flight would depart at 7.40 pm and arrive in Dubai at 10.10 pm. (local time).
"The new service will provide a much-needed link between Karnataka's port city and Dubai, catering to the large number of Indians settled in the UAE," IANS quoted Jet chief commercial officer Sudeer Raghavan as saying in the statement.
On Friday, the flight would take-off from Mangalore at 7 pm and land in Dubai at 9.30 pm (local time). The return flight would depart from Dubai at 10.30 pm and land at Mangalore at 3.30 am on Saturdays.
