IndiGo offers Rs900 tickets on select routes

Budget carrier IndiGo today joined the current bout of air fare wars, announcing fares starting as low as Rs900 on select domestic routes.

The Rs900 offer from IndiGo is applicable on the Jammu-Srinagar and Delhi-Jaipur routes. Bookings for the offer will be open till 10 September and will be applicable on travel between 13 September and 30 September.

Under this IndiGo offer, Delhi-Lucknow route tickets are priced from Rs1,346, Guwahati-Bagdogra Rs1,648, Jammu-Delhi Rs1,750, Delhi-Varanasi Rs1,846, Srinagar-Delhi Rs1,890 and Delhi-Jammu Rs1,896.

IndiGo did not did not disclose the number of seats available under the offer.

IndiGo's offer comes in the wake of discount offers from other airlines. AirAsia India and Vistara had recently announced discount offers on advanced fares, with all-inclusive tickets starting Rs599 and Rs949 respectively.

Airlines offer special fares to increase load factors during the lean seasons: the periods between January-March and July-September are typically considered lean season for the domestic airline industry.
