IndiGo adds Port Blair to schedule with daily flights

Underlining the growing importance of emerging domestic aviation sectors, budget carrier IndiGo has announced the addition of Port Blair in the Andamans in its schedule as its 41st overall and 36th domestic destination.
The new schedule sees the introduction of new daily non-stop flights to Port Blair from Kolkata and Chennai effective 28 September and 30 September respectively. Port Blair will also be connected to Delhi via Kolkata and Hyderabad via Chennai.
Celebrating its tenth year in the Indian skies, the airline will also launch additional frequencies with daily non-stop flight between Delhi and Kolkata, Delhi and Chennai and Hyderabad and Varanasi.
Speaking on the launch of new flights and the addition of the new destination, IndiGo president Aditya Ghosh said, ''We are extremely pleased about adding Port Blair as our 41st destination. It is going to be an important part of our destination network, catering for the needs of both business as well as leisure travellers looking to embrace the deep blue waters. In addition, IndiGo will connect the holy city of Varanasi with Hyderabad with a daily non-stop service.

On the international sector, IndiGo in August launched first daily non-stop flight between Chandigarh and Dubai and a second daily non-stop on the Kochi-Dubai sector. On the domestic front, IndiGo also recently introduced additional frequencies in the Agartala-Kolkata sector, the first non-stop flight on the Kolkata-Visakhapatnam-Kolkata sector and a 5th daily non-stop flight between Kolkata and Hyderabad.
