Indraprastha Apollo Hospital to provide medical facilities at IGIA, Delhi

Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL) has awarded Indraprastha Apollo Hospital a contract to provide upgraded medical facilities to air passengers and employees and also to operate and manage medical facilities at Delhi Indira Gandhi International Airport's passenger and cargo terminals.
A statement from the airport operator said that Apollo Hospitals will offer the following facilities and services for the benefit of passengers and employees at the IGIA:
- Four bedded medical centre each at the domestic and international terminals with basic first-aid, stabilizing facilities and modern, automatic machines to handle acute medical emergencies
- Casualty Evacuation Centre at the domestic arrival
- Three advanced life saving ambulances for mobility on air-side and city-side will be available with paramedics round the clock - one each at the domestic terminal, international terminal and the cargo terminal
- One paramedic, one medical coordinator and one doctor to be present round the clock at domestic arrival terminal and international terminal
- 24 hour pharmacy to be located at domestic arrival terminal
- First-aid, emergency and routine primary care
- Disaster management and emergency services round the clock
- Aviation medicine consultancy services
- Medical examinations
- Accreditation with domestic/ international hospitals/associations enabling domestic / international passengers to avail insurance/claims,
DIAL said that its tie-up with Apollo Hospitals, a leader in medicare, for setting up the Medical Centre in all passenger and cargo terminals of IGI Airport will be a step ahead towards achieving a customer-friendly airport.
