Heikki Kovalainen opens his account in F1 Grand Prix

McLaren driver, Heikki Kovalainen scored his maiden F1 victory on Sunday in the Hungarian Grand Prix. The Finn driver was fortunate to go past Felipe Massa of team Ferrari, who led the race for 67 laps. Massa suffered an unfortunate engine failure with three laps to go and eventually crawled past the chequered flag in 17th position.

Timo Glock of Toyota, another surprise podium finisher, drove a fantastic race to come in second. World champion Kimi Raikkonen in his Ferrari completed the podium standings to finish third.

Heikki Kovalainen2008 season leader Lewis Hamilton of McLaren, finished fifth to remain at the top of the points table, with 62 points, ahead of Raikkonen's 57 and Massa's 54.

It was yet another dissapointing outing for Force India team, with Fisichella's managing only 15th position while Adrian Sutil retired from the race after several pit stops.

Ferrari leads the Constructors standings with 111 points, followed by McLaren-Mercedes at 100 points. BMW Sauber is in third position with 90 points. Vijay Mallya, led Force India Team is yet to collect a single point in this year's championship.

The next race is the European Grand Prix at Valencia, Spain on 24 August 2008.
