The latest variant of the Accent car is the Viva. This is a sporty 1,599cc, semi-notchback version of the midsize Accent and is priced at Rs 6.80 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

By 2002-end the company will launch a diesel engine variant of the car. The company is working with the auto component-maker Bosch on development of a common rail diesel injection (CRDI) engine to be rolled out by next year.

The Viva is the fifth variant of the Accent after GLS, GLX, GVS and the Tornado variants from the Hyundai India fold. The new model has features like anti-lock braking system, alloy wheels, collapsible steering column, rear defogger and adjustable driving seat.

The Accent Viva has maximum horsepower (ps/rpm) 102.6/5800 and maximum torque (kgm/rpm) 14.4/4500 with rack and pinion with power assist steering system.

Exclusive Viva features include ABS, 14” aluminium alloy wheels, leather-wrapped steering wheel, leather-wrapped TGS knob with chrome insert, audio with remote and rear wiper and washer.
