Embraer said that deliveries of 61 aircraft in the fourth quarter have enabled it to establish a company record and also post a growth of 30% year-over-year. The Q4 deliveries take the total for 2007 up to 169.

The manufacturer said it "sought to adapt its industrial processes to the delivery schedule established with customers. Such actions as hiring new employees, implementing a third shift for some of the production processes and adopting a lean manufacturing concept" were key to their success.

The company delivered 45 commercial aircraft last quarter comprising five ERJ-145s, two E-170s, 13 E-175s, 22 E-190s and three E-195s.

For the full year it delivered 130 commercial aircraft comprising seven ERJ-145s, 11 E-170s, 34 E-175s, 68 E-190s and 10 E-195s.

The total value of Embraer's order backlog, as of 31 December 2007, stands at $18.8 billion.

Embraer has 46 aircraft in the ERJ-145 family on order, along with 31 E-170s, 70 E-175s, 282 E-190s and 47 E-195s, for a grand total of 476.

The company picked up more than $1.1 billion worth of orders at the Dubai Air Show last November.

The company expects to deliver a total of 195-200 aircraft in 2008 and 2009.
