DGCA rates Jet Airways as best on-time performer on domestic routes

Private carrier, Jet Airways, has been rated the best on-time performer amongst all other scheduled domestic airlines with an on-time performance of 94.9%. JetLite, the airlines wholly owned subsidiary, was also not too far behind registering an impressive on-time performance of 91% per cent, as per the figures released by the director general of civil aviation (DGCA).

Together, the Jet Airways Group maintained its dominant leadership position in the Indian aviation sector with a market share of 25.4%. 

In the month of March, Jet Airways carried 4.03 lakh international revenue paying passengers with an overall seat factor of 75.9%. The airline also carried 8.43 lakh domestic revenue paying passengers.

JetLite, the wholly owned subsidiary of Jet Airways India Ltd, carried over 3.89 lakh revenue passengers in the month of March 2011 with a seat factor of 77.0%.

Jet Airways currently operates a fleet of 97 aircraft, which includes 10 Boeing 777-300 ER aircraft, 12 Airbus A330-200 aircraft, 55 next generation Boeing 737-700/800/900 aircraft and 20 modern ATR 72-500 turboprop aircraft.

With an average fleet age of 5.15 years, the airline has one of the youngest aircraft fleets in the world. It flies to 71 destinations across the length and breadth of India and outside the country's borders. These include New York (both JFK and Newark), Toronto, Brussels, London (Heathrow), Milan, Johannesburg, Hong Kong, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Colombo, Bangkok, Kathmandu, Dhaka, Kuwait, Bahrain, Muscat, Doha, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Jeddah, Sharjah, Riyadh and Dammam.
