India's largest private carrier by passengers carried, Jet Airways, has announced it will commence daily Sharjah-Thiruvananthapuram services from 30 October. The airline currently operates a daily Sharjah-Kochi service.

This will be the tenth daily service offered between the UAE and India and the 22nd Jet Airways service from the Gulf to India, it added.

Jet's Gulf network now operates to 10 destinations in the region.

The additional services to Thiruvananthapuram will add to the airline's existing daily Gulf operations from Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Dubai, Doha, Kuwait, Muscat and Sharjah, as well as Jeddah, Riyadh and Dammam to Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad and Kochi.

Nikos Kardassis, CEO, Jet Airways said: "Jet Airways has established itself as a prominent brand in the intensely competitive Indo-Gulf sector for its service and quality of its in-flight product.

"We are confident that the new service from Thiruvananthapuram to Sharjah will prove immensely popular with our guests. We believe that this new route has the potential to serve the needs of our corporate and business travellers, especially from the South."

Jet Airways, Jet Airways Konnect and JetLite have a combined fleet strength of 115 aircraft and operate over 580 flights daily.
