Jet to commence daily Thiruvananthapuram-Sharjah service

Dubai: Jet Airways has said it will boost capacity on the UAE-India sector by commencing daily services between Sharjah and Thiruvananthapuram from 30 October. The airline currently operates a daily service between Sharjah and Kochi.

According to Ratan Ratnakar, vice president, market development and pricing, Gulf and Middle East Africa, the Sharjah-Thiruvanathapuram service will be Jet's tenth daily service between the UAE and India and the 22nd service overall between the Gulf and India.

Jet's flight 9W 569 will depart Sharjah at 1340 and arrive in Thiruvananthapuram at 1900 and the return service, 9W 570, will depart Thiruvananthapuram at 1015 and arrive in Sharjah at 1240 local time.

The airline will deploy Boeing 737-800 aircraft on this new route, offering 16 premiere and 138 economy seats.

With this additional service between Sharjah and India, business class passengers would be able to enjoy a wide choice of timings between the UAE and India through the day. The flights are conveniently timed to connect with Jet Airways' domestic network and its fast-growing network to Saarc/Asean points.

Jet operates one of the youngest fleets amongst Indian carriers and operates to 24 international destinations.

The additional service to Thiruvananthapuram will now complement the airline's existing daily Gulf operations from Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Dubai, Doha, Kuwait, Muscat and Sharjah, as well as Jeddah, Riyadh and Dammam to Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad and Kochi.

Jet Airways currently operates a fleet of 98 aircraft, with flights to 76 destinations.
