JetLite receives clearance for Amritsar-Bangkok operations

New Delhi: Jet Airways subsidiary JetLite has been allowed to start its first international operation with a flight to Bangkok from the north Indian city of Amritsar. The operation would provide passengers from India a low cost alternative on a route that experiences heavy tourist traffic.

This would be JetLite's first international operation after Air Sahara was taken over by Jet Airways earlier this year and renamed JetLite.

Though there is no word on when operations are likely to start, it is learnt that the airline is expecting to start operations during the winter schedule, which lasts from October-end to March of the following year.

JetLite's currently international schedule includes flights to Kathmandu and Colombo. The airline has also applied to the Government for permission to operate flights to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Muscat, Bahrain and Kuwait.
